If it was wicked hot last summer,
what could be call this one? Right now, we are over 20" behind in
average rainfall and with this intense heat we are suffering.
Global Warming? Bu isn't it amazing how those wonderful plants
survive and respond to just a shower? We have had the best winter,
spring, and summer vegetable garden ever. The early planting, the
commitment to constant monitoring and watering have been well worth
the effort.
Live each season as it passes;
Breath the air, drink the drink,
Taste the fruit and resign yourself
To the influences of each.
Henry David Thoreau

OHF was excited to be featured in: Florida Growers, Tallahassee
Magazine, Valdosta Daily Times and the Madison County Carrier this
spring. We saw a lot of new faces and made new friends because of
this informative press. Many thanks to all the publications that
shared our farm story.

OHF's 5th JUST BECAUSE FESTIVAL was fantastic!
The bitterly cold windy February weather didn't keep many away from
our festivities. There were 26 speakers for the ongoing mini
workshops. Interesting, pertinent topics filled the day along with
almost 30 vendors. All and all, about 800 folks participated in
making it such a special event. A huge thank you goes out to the
wonderful crew of workers and volunteers who helped make this day
possible. Remember to put SATURDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2008 on your
calendar. Many new workshop topics and speakers will be added to
our array of popular favorites.
